The successful album reached the top of the charts in Germany and came 4th in Austria and 3rd in Switzerland. "Lemon Tree" was a number one hit in Austria and Germany. Fools Garden were awarded the Echo, the Golden Tuning Fork, the Bambi and the Golden Europe for their success. in 1997, the second album Go and Ask Peggy for the Principal Thing was released, which reached number 44 in the German charts and number 50 in the Austrian charts. After the release of the album 25 Miles to Kissimmee, the new band members left Fools Garden and Peter Freudenthaler and Volker Hinkel continued with three new members. Over the course of their career, the group performed in Russia, China and Lithuania and, in addition to regular concerts, also gave open-air concerts, such as during the 2013 Deutschlandfest at the Brandenburg Gate.
