Born in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England on July 8, 1992, Benjamin Grosvenor is a critically-acclaimed classical pianist. He began studying piano at the age of 5, and later took lessons from Hilary Coates and Christopher Elton. In 2004, at the age of 11, the BBC selected him as one of the most talented young musicians of his generation. He performed in many prestigious venues - including the Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall - and released his first album, This and That (2009). He earned critical acclaim and a higher commercial profile at the BBC Proms in 2011 and recorded the critically acclaimed Chopin - Liszt - Ravel release. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music and graduated in 2012, receiving the Queen’s Award for Excellence. In 2013, he released the album Rhapsody in Blue, which featured the music of Ravel, Saint-Saëns, and Gershwin. Benjamin Grosvenor’s next album Dances (2014) featured compositions by Bach, Chopin, Granados and Morton Gould. Homages (2016) found him performing works by Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Mendelssohn, and Franck. Four years later, he released Chopin Piano Concertos. In February 2021, he released the album Liszt.
