Peter Francis McPoland, born on 3 November 2000 in Burlington, Vermont, is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He began his musical journey at age 14 when he taught himself to play the guitar, having been exposed to music from a young age due to his parents' love for country and folk genres. In 2018, he released his debut single "Lady Bird", followed by "Sally Forth" in 2019 and "I Love You Too" later that year. His breakthrough moment came in March 2021 when an acoustic version of his song "Romeo & Juliet" posted on TikTok garnered over a million views, leading to a signing with Columbia Records the following May. He released several singles including "Shit Show", "Eloise", and more, which laid the groundwork for his first EP Slow Down, released in May 2022. That year, he also served as the opening act for Twenty One Pilots on their Icy Tour. In 2023, he announced his debut album Piggy, releasing singles like "Digital Silence", "Blue" and "Turn off the Noise" leading up to its August release. The album title is inspired by the novel Lord of the Flies and his emotions surrounding his parents' divorce.
