Maria Marçal

Maria Marçal, born on June 13, 2009, in Rio das Ostras, Brazil, first began recording covers of Christian music online in 2022 and quickly gained recognition with her emotive rendition of “Deserto,” which charted on Brazil’s Billboard Hot 100 and reached tens of millions of streams, establishing her as a rising voice in contemporary gospel music. In the same year, she released her debut EP Deserto (Ao Vivo) under the label MK Music, followed by the live EP Jesus Meu Primeiro Amor (Ao Vivo) in 2023, showcasing her powerful vocal delivery and spiritual depth. That year she earned national prominence through nominations at the Multishow Brazilian Music Awards for the newly created Gospel categories. In 2024, Maria Marçal recorded her first DVD, Cura, live in Salvador, featuring new songs and career highlights, and later declined a high-profile invitation to perform a secular song on Teleton, reasserting her commitment to her faith-driven artistry.
