Emmanuel Pahud

Bolstered by international prizes won in Duino (1988), Kobe (1989) and Geneva (1992), Emmanuel Pahud (born in Geneva, Switzerland, on January 27, 1970) emerged as the most important flutist of his generation when, in 1992, he was appointed principal soloist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra by Claudio Abbado. From concerts to festivals and tours, the Franco-Swiss flautist's reputation continues to grow as he accompanies orchestras in Paris, London, Munich, Vienna, Barcelona and Tokyo. After several recordings for the Valois label, the first album of his contract with EMI( Mozart'sConcerto for flute and harp ) was awarded the Diapason d'or. Other awards followed, including a Victoire de la musique classique in 1998. Made a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, Emmanuel Pahud published his recital Le Roi Flûtiste in 2012. Three years later, he revived four flute concertos by Gluck, Pleyel, Devienne and Gianella in the album Révolution.
