C-Block is a German hip-hop and dance group founded in 1995 by producers Franky Miller (born Frank Müller on February 26, 1966 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe), Jörg Wagner and Ulrich Buchmann. The group initially consisted of the US rappers Anthony "Red Dogg" Joseph and James "Mr. P" White, both former soldiers who remained in Germany after the Second Gulf War. The ensemble is completed by the singers Raquel Gomez and Theresa "Misty" Baltimore as well as the singer Preston "Goldie Gold" Holloway. In 1996, C-Block releases the debut single "Shake Dat Azz" in collaboration with the rapper A.K.-S.W.I.F.T. The breakthrough came with the second single "So Strung Out", which was released on October 4, 1996 and stayed in the German charts for 23 weeks, peaking at number 4. In Switzerland the song reached number 7, in Austria number 14 and in Finland also number 7. The debut album General Population was released in 1997 and reached number 14 in the German album charts and number 10 in Switzerland. Other successful singles from this album are "Time Is Tickin' Away" (number 5 in Germany) and "Summertime" (number 19 in Germany). James "Mr. P" White leaves the group at the end of 1997. His position is taken over by Theresa "Misty" Baltimore and Preston "Goldie Gold" Holloway. The second album Keepin' It Real is released on December 11, 1998 and reaches number 45 in the German charts. The single "Eternal Grace" reaches number 8 in Germany. In 1999, James "Mr. P" White returns and R&B singer Jeanine Love joins the group. The single "Keep Movin'" is released, but only reaches number 66 in the German charts. The group disbanded at the end of 2000. In 2010, the previously unreleased album Changes is released digitally under the title The Last Album. In July 2023, Franky Miller announces the return of C-Block with a new line-up via his Budapest label Duna Beats. On August 10, 2023, a remix of the song "Summertime" is released in collaboration with Charming Horses. The new single "Weather" with singer EASI follows in October 2023.
