Geto Boys are a hip-hop duo from Houston, Texas who have had several hit recordings featuring controversial lyrics since their debut in 1986. In May 2019, the current members, rappers Willie Dennis, Brad Jordan and Richard Shaw announced a farewell tour due to Shaw's health problems with pancreatic cancer; Shaw passed away aged 52 in June 2019.
With the classic line-up they released an eponymous album that went to number 67 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart in 1990. 'We Can't Be Stopped' reached number five on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart in 1991, 'Til Death Us Do Part' (1993) and 'Resurrection' (1996) both topped the chart while 'Da Good Da Bad & Da Ugly' (1998) and 'The Foundation' (2005) peaked at number five. Their 1991 single 'Mind Playing Tricks On Me' topped the Hot Rap Songs Chart and went to number ten on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. 'Six Feet Deep' (1993) reached number two on the Hot Rap Songs Chart, 'Crooked Officer' (1993) peaked at number four and 'The World Is a Ghetto' (1996) featuring Flaj went to number 12.
