Rob Simonsen

Rob Simonsen is an accomplished American composer and musician known for his evocative and emotive film scores. Born on 11 March 1978, in St. Louis, Missouri, he developed a passion for music at a young age, studying piano and delving into various musical genres. He gained widespread recognition in Hollywood for his ability to create compelling musical landscapes that enhance the emotional depth of films. His career took off when he co-composed the score for the 2004 film Westender, but he truly made a name for himself with his work on (500) Days of Summer (2009), where he collaborated with composer Mychael Danna. This led to further collaborations and a solo career that saw him scoring films such as The Spectacular Now (2013), Foxcatcher (2014), Love, Simon (2018), and The Way Back (2020). In addition to his work in film, he has explored various musical projects and founded his own recording studio, Siddhartha Khosla, which allows him to experiment with different styles and genres.
