Born October 6, 1988 in Brooklyn,
New York, Devvon Terrell dreamed of a music career as a boy, and made it happen
as a young man. Though he always loved music, he got a computing degree in
college. He soon took it upon himself to study audio recording and began
altering then current hits. Those productions were posted online and he quickly
grew a fan base. He collaborated with Young X on a pair of mixtapes in the
early 2010s, and issued his debut EP, The Living Weirdo_o, in 2014. His
fusion of pop, R&B, and hip-hop was made apparent on his debut LP, 2015’s Weird
Sexy Cool, and its single “Tell You Off”, which featured Witt Lowry.
That same year he enjoyed his biggest chart success to that point with the
album Coast to Coast, a collaboration with Futuristic the reached the
top 10 on the rap charts, number 12 on the R&B chart, and had enough
crossover momentum to top out at number 82 on the regular album chart. He
enjoyed another top 15 R&B album with EP with The Renaissance in
2016. He continued to release remixes as well as original material on works
like 2017’s Weird Nights and 2019’s The Rawe Sound, Vol. 1. With
2020’s Social Distancing Together, he fashioned a love song that
addresses concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic with the single “Week 4”.
