Ángela Aguilar Álvarez Alcalá, better known as Ángela Aguilar, is a Mexican-American singer. Born on October 8, 2003, in Los Angeles, California, she is the daughter of mariachi artist Pepe Aguilar and her grandparents are Mexican actors and singers Antonio Aguilar and singer Flor Silvestre. She made her musical debut at just 9 years old on the album Nueva Tradición, recorded alongside her brother Leonardo. After performing at the 2016 BBC 100 Woman festival in Mexico City, she embarked on the Jaripeo Sin Fronteras tour with her father, uncle, and brother in 2018. Later that year, Ángela Aguilar released her first solo album, Primero Soy Mexicana, a collection of Regional Mexican standards that reached Number 6 on the Mexican Top 100 and earned a nomination for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album at the Latin Grammy Awards. This success was followed by the Selena tribute EP Baila Esta Cumbia and by another extended play titled Que No Se Apague la Música in 2020. Preceded by the single "En Realidad," her third overall album, Mexicana Enamorada, appeared in 2021. The following year, she collaborated with pop singer Yuridia on the track "Qué Agonía," one of the singles from the former La Academia alumni's album, Pa' Luego Es Tarde (2022).
