Andrew Michael Ripp was born on 24 August 1982 in Palatine, Illinois, and emerged as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist in the American rock music scene. Ripp first gained attention as a songwriter, contributing to Ryan Cabrera’s You Stand Watching, which charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and other U.S. charts. He released his debut studio album Fifty Miles to Chicago in January 2008, produced with Dan Lavery, and followed with She Remains the Same in September 2010, which entered the Billboard New Artists chart. In 2013, Ripp issued Won’t Let Go under Be Music & Entertainment, produced by Charlie Peacock, and promoted it with touring alongside artists such as Sara Bareilles and Andy Grammer. The 2014 stripped‑down acoustic release Simple showcased reimagined tracks from Won’t Let Go and a cover of "Mirrors" by Justin Timberlake. Ripp’s 2015 self‑titled album and subsequent releases The Heart (2018), The Soul (2019), Evergreen (2025), and The Mercy Room (2025) expanded his catalogue, with singles including "Jericho" (2020) and "Joy to the World" (2019), and "I'd Do It Again." He earned a Grammy nomination in 2020 for co‑writing Zach Williams’ "Rescue Story" and has maintained an active touring schedule, sharing stages with prominent rock and contemporary Christian acts.
