Contemporary Christian and pop singer, songwriter, and musician Andrew Ripp – born August 24, 1982, in Palatine, Illinois – has released a series of solo albums and collaborations but he is best known as a Grammy-nominated songwriter. He first came to prominence in 2005 when he co-wrote five of the 11 songs featured on Ryan Cabrera’s album You Stand Watching including the single “Shine On”. Andrew Ripp independently released his debut solo album, Fifty Miles to Chicago, in 2008. Shortly after touring to support his debut, Andrew Ripp began working on his sophomore solo album, She Remains the Same, which was released in 2010. This critically acclaimed second album entered the Top 100 on Billboard’s New Artists chart. After the release of his 2011 Christmas EP, Light of Mine, he began working with Grammy-winning producer Charlie Peacock, Andrew Ripp’s third album, Won’t Let Go (2013), was also a success. The album included the singles "Cool Ya (Nobody Loves You Like I Do)” and "Falling for the Beat". His 2014 album, Simple, was an acoustic release that featured 10 tracks from Won’t Let Go plus a cover of Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors”. Andrew Ripp released his self-titled album in 2015 and took a six-year break from his own solo career to focus on songwriting – he was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2020 for co-writing Zach Williams’ “Rescue Story”. Andrew Ripp didn’t entirely abandon his own career, releasing two EPs – The Heart (2018) and The Soul (2019) – as well as the non-album holiday single “Joy to the World”. In 2020, Andrew Ripp released the single, “Evergreen”, which proved to be his most successful yet, reaching Number 1 on the Christian Airplay and Christian Adult Contemporary charts. The single was followed by the Evergreen album in May 2021.
