The Parisian duo Jahneration, formed by Thëo and Ogach, was created in 2009 when the
two childhood friends decided to swap Punk Rock for Reggae. Musicians since their
earliest years, they compose, write, and sing in English blended with Jamaican patois.
Passionate about the island and its music, the duo draws inspiration from frequent trips
to Jamaica: in 2017, they recorded with their band at the legendary Marley family’s Tuff
Gong Studios. This led to remarkable collaborations with major international Reggae
figures such as Alborosie, Queen Omega, as well as many French artists including Manu
Chao, Dub Inc, Danakil, and Naâman. Their encounter with the latter in 2011 marked a
turning point in their career with the track “Me Nah Fed Up”—a Reggae/Hip Hop tune that
made a lasting impression on young Reggae fans and earned them their first loyal
audience. In 2015, Jahneration signed with the independent label Ovastand, which helped
establish them within the French contemporary music scene. Over the past ten years, they
have toured across France and its overseas territories, Europe, India, and Canada,
performing more than 400 shows. After opening in most major venues and Zéniths across
France, they sold out the prestigious Olympia in 2022 and now play to packed houses
throughout the country. With six albums to their name, Jahneration has become one of
the most essential projects in the French Reggae landscape. Prolific, creative, and
powerful on stage, they bring together a wide audience with their modern, dynamic
Reggae.
