Biografia

The Canadian rapper Tom MacDonald was born on September 21, 1988, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He first made a name for himself as a professional wrestler named "Allstar," then began making rap music at 18 years old, taking inspiration from artists like 2Pac and Marilyn Manson. MacDonald delivered LeeAnn's Son, his mixtape debut, in 2014. Albums like 2015’s self-released See You Tomorrow followed, but it wasn’t until 2018 that MacDonald finally kicked things into high gear with Deathreats. Preceded by the provocative single "Whiteboy," the album greatly increased the Canadian MC's popularity and was followed by the 2019 singles "Straight White Male," "Cloned Rappers," and "If I Was Black," all of which rapidly gained traction online due to their controversial content. In 2020, MacDonald touched on the subject of conspiracy theories with the single "Coronavirus" (from the mixtape Flowers for the Dead) and broke into the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with "Fake Woke," which peaked at Number 96. One year later, he teamed up with fellow artists Nova Rockafeller and Brandon Hart for the collaborative album As Far as the Stars, earning two Top 30 singles ("No Good Bastards" and "Church") on Billboard's Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The solo single "Brainwashed" was released later that year and peaked at Number 31 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and Tom MacDonald cracked the Billboard 200 for the first time with 2022's The Brave, which charted at Number 14. He released the follow-up albums Renegade and Revolution later that year, then returned in 2023 with The Brave 2, which reached number 62 in the US.
