From the moment Patrick Droney picked up his father’s guitar, he set his sights on New York City. The New Jersey-raised newcomer began gigging in Manhattan clubs and eventually attended the Clive Davis Institute at NYU. Shortly after, he inked a publishing deal and relocated to Nashville in 2018 to record a self-titled EP. Droney’s fan base grew rapidly, prompting Warner Records to sign him a year later. For his full-length debut, the breakout star drew inspiration from life experiences. These stories manifested into 20 new songs that reflect passion and musical prowess through the lens of a young man with an old soul. The end result is a finely crafted, powerful album called STATE OF THE HEART that weaves pop, classic rock, and R&B into something all his own. Droney made his TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers, performed at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for Tidal X, collaborated with Kygo, landed a sync on Grey’s Anatomy with “High Hope,” and hit the festival circuit, drawing rave reviews at ACL and Bonnaroo (he’s back in 2022). Since the release of his acclaimed debut album, Droney has toured non-stop, sold out every show, released several breathtaking videos, and still found time to write, record, release yet more non-album tracks, including a cover of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.” The singer-songwriter has surpassed 100 million streams and just announced his most extensive touring schedule to date. Expect much more from Patrick Droney in the near future.
