Hiro Takahashi, born Hiroyuki Takahashi on August 10, 1964, in Japan, was a singer known for his contributions to J-pop and pop music. At the age of 11, Takahashi composed two songs: "Heart of a Woman" and "Northern Town". He began his professional career in 1984 by joining the band Popsicle. In 1987, he transitioned to Tulip, where he played a significant role in writing hit singles such as "It's Just Love" and "Blue Sky", contributing to the band's success during their active years. After Tulip disbanded in 1989 (they reunited in 1997), Takahashi rejoined Popsicle temporarily and became more active as a composer following the shutdown of his recording label. He composed numerous soundtracks for anime, stage, television, and radio, including music for Nippon Hōsō Show Up Nighter from 2005 until 2008. His notable albums include Kimi ja Nakerya Iminaine (1993), which featured the hit single "Itsumo Jōkigen", and the LP Great Big Kiss (2000). Takahashi's work as a composer spanned various genres, including pop, rock, and anime soundtracks. He also released several singles throughout his career, such as "Unbalance na Kiss o Shite" (1993) and "Taiyō ga Mata Kagayaku Toki" (1994). Takahashi passed away on November 4, 2005, at the age of 41 due to multiple organ failure resulting from a retroperitoneal sarcoma. Posthumously, his music continued to be celebrated, with releases such as From Future Present (2007) and Takahashi Hiro Best Collection (2010), which compiled his most popular works.
