Contrast, his debut album, followed in 2007 and produced the singles "Uroko" and "Aoi Chō," both of which charted within the Top 25. Albums like 2008's Alright, 2010 Documentary, 2013 Signed Pop, and 2015's Ao no Kōkei followed, which all four releases reaching the Top 10 of the Oricon Albums Chart. Motohiro Hata also enjoyed continues success on the singles charts, with 2010's "Ai" and 2014's "Himawari no Yakusoku" both receiving platinum certifications. Those two tracks, along with a decade's worth of radio hits, appeared on the compilation album All Time Best Hata Motohiro, which arrived in 2017 and marked Hata's first time charting at Number 1. He continued released music with 2019's Copernicus, which reached Number 6, and earned another Top 20 hit in 2022 with the single "サイダー."
