Martins

Martins, born Thiago Emanoel Martins do Nascimento in Recife on August 25, 1990, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and instrumentalist known for blending traditional folk influences with contemporary music. He began his journey deeply influenced by regional poetry and the repentista tradition, and at 18, he picked up the rabeca (a traditional fiddle). Martins was a member of bands like Sagarana and Forró na Caixa before launching his solo career. His first solo album, Martins (2019), featuring 11 original tracks, helped him gain visibility and establish himself as an emerging voice from Recife. In 2023, he released his second album, Interessante e Obsceno, which was well-received by critics. His reimagining of Paulinho Pedra Azul's "Jardim da Fantasia" became one of the Top 10 radio hits in Brazil in May 2024, after being featured on the soundtrack for the Renascer telenovela reboot. Martins’ compositions have also been recorded by renowned artists such as Daniela Mercury, Simone, and Ney Matogrosso, further cementing his place in the Brazilian music scene.
