Housefires is a contemporary Christian band from Atlanta, Georgia, where the group formed at Grace Midtown Church in 2014. Musical performances were already a big part of the church's weekly Sunday morning services, and the church had released two albums under the name Grace Midtown by the time Housefires launched. Featuring contributions from worship pastors like Kirby Kaple, Patrick Barrett, Tony Brown, and Nate Moore, Housefires released a self-titled debut album in 2014. The record's sound was a stripped-down version of reverent pop/rock, and many of its tracks reappeared in more polished versions later that year on Housefires' second album, Housefires II. Housefires II reached Number 10 on the Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart in the UK, as well as Number 30 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart. By the time Housefires III was released in 2016, the band's audience had expanded considerably, pushing the album to Number 2 on the UK's Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart and Number 3 on American's Top Christian Albums. That same year, Chris Tomlin released a chart-topping cover of the Housefires' song "Good Good Father," which received a GMA Dove Award for "Song of the Year." 2017's We Say Yes was another Top 10 success on the Christian charts in both the US and the UK, and the group released one more album on its own label before signing with Capitol CMG for 2021's Housefires VII. The band's hit streak continued into 2023, when the single "If I Could Have Anything" debuted at Number 41 on the Hot Christian Songs chart.
