Despite an often-changing line-up, Scooter have enjoyed a successful career in the dance arena with a succession of high-octane happy hardcore and Eurodance earworms. Prolific in their output and boasting a dedicated army of fans, the group formed in Hamburg in 1993 and went on to become one of the more commercially successful European dance outfits of the 1990s, garnering a huge following in their homeland of Germany. Their debut single "Vallée De Larmes" ("Valley of Tears") reached Number 8 in the German official dance chart and paved the way for further hits. Undisputedly, their next work, "Hyper Hyper" proved the group's big breakthrough, amassing more than half a million sales in Germany. However, it wasn't until "Back In the U.K." was released from the act's second album, Our Happy Hardcore, that the Brits took note, and it stormed into the top 20. Since then, Scooter have gone from strength to strength, covering Soft Cell's "Sex Dwarf" hit in 2000, releasing myriad dance albums that decade, from the hard dance and hardstyle of offerings like We Bring the Noise! (2001) and Jumping All Over the World (2007) to 2009's Under the Radar Over the Top. They continued to put out albums every year or two during the 2010s and 2020s, including 2017's jumpstyle tour de force Scooter Forever and 2020's God Save the Rave, ascending through the ranks to become one of Germany's most successful commercial chart acts. The group took a little longer before returning with their next album, Open Your Mind and Your Trousers, which was released in 2024 as their 21st LP to date.
