Biografia

Steffany Gretzinger launched her career in contemporary Christian music as a member of the praise and worship collective Bethel Music in 2011, then mounted a Grammy-nominated solo career shortly thereafter. She was born as "Steffany Frizzell" in Wooster, Ohio, on November 8, 1984. After serving as a worship leader for the Bethel Church in Redding, California, she began performing with the church's house band, ultimately making her official debut with Bethel Music as a backup vocalist on the group's 2011 live album, Be Lifted High. That same year, she also appeared on the song "One Thirst" by fellow Bethel Music member Jeremy Riddle and contributed background vocals to William Matthews' album Hope's Anthem. By the following year, she'd begun performing her own songs with Bethel Music, appearing on The Loft Sessions and For the Sake of the World as a featured vocalist in 2012. One year later, she sang two songs on Bethel Music's Tides, which reached number 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart. This momentum spilled over into Gretzinger's solo career, which she launched in 2014 with The Undoing. A Top 20 hit on the Billboard 200, The Undoing peaked at number 2 on the Christian charts in America and number 1 on the Official Christian & Gospel Albums chart in the UK. It was followed by 2018's Blackout, another chart-topping release in the UK. Blackout received a GMA Dove Award nomination for "Short Form Video of the Year" and featured three Top 40 Christian singles, including the number 28 hit "Save Me." Forever Amen followed in 2020, because Gretzinger's third consecutive album to peak at number 2 on the Christian Albums chart in the US, and earned Gretzinger her second GMA Dove Award nomination. After releasing 2021's Faith of My Father, she appeared on the Grammy-nominated gospel song "Voice of God" with Dante Bowe and began working on her next release, The Narrow Way. Released in 2023, The Narrow Way featured the hit single "No Turning Back."
