Inayah

Born Inayah Lamis in Houston, Texas on November 8, 1989, the R&B and soul singer-songwriter who is best known by her first name. She became interested in music as a toddler and was writing songs by the age of 10. After working for a jingle company, she began her solo career in 2017 when she released a cover of Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up,” which became a viral sensation on social media thanks to celebrities sharing it on their social media accounts. She followed up that popular cover version with original material including her breakthrough hit, “Fairy Tale” (2018). Following several more hit singles in 2019 – “N.A.S.,” “Suga Daddy,” “Real Love,” and the enormously successful “Best Thing” – she released her debut album, S.O.L.A.R. After issuing the singles – “Go Get That B” (2020), “Fallin’” (2021), and “What Are We?” – she released the EPs Side A (2021) and Insecure (2022). In 2024, Inayah released her sophomore full length album, Wait, There’s More, which included the singles “For the Streets” and “Hot Sauce.”
