Ratt

In the early '80s, the heavy metal scene was all about glam, with Californian bands naturally drawn to the glitterati. Less well known than Mötley Crüe or Guns 'N' Roses, Ratt nevertheless enjoyed resounding success from 1984 onwards, and the album Out of the Cellar. Invasion of Your Privacy in 1985 confirms these good beginnings. But Ratt soon ran out of steam and failed to achieve significant international success, except in Germany. Dancing Undercover (1986) and Reach for the Sky (1988) did nothing to improve Ratt's reputation, nor did Detonator in 1990. Ratt went into dormancy in 1992, before returning with Ratt in 1999. A troubled period followed, with two versions of the band "cohabiting", each claiming to use the Ratt name. The situation was clarified in 2010 with Infestation, a new album by the real Ratt.
