Benjamin Frith, born on October 11, 1957, in Sheffield, England, is a British classical pianist. He studied at the University of Leeds, obtaining a BA in music in 1979, and later trained under Fanny Waterman. Frith's early career highlights include winning the Dudley Piano Competition at age fourteen and the gold medal at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in 1989. He has performed with notable orchestras such as the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Israeli Philharmonic, the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Polish National Radio Orchestra, and the BBC Philharmonic, collaborating with conductors like Zubin Mehta. His repertoire spans from Bach to Tippett, encompassing over 50 concertos. Frith has recorded all the concertos of John Field, with his recordings of "Concerto No.5" and "Concerto No.6" reaching Number 1 on the classical charts in 2002. He is a member of the Gould Piano Trio and teaches at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. His discography includes Piano Music Volume 2 (Nocturnes And Sonatas) (2000) and Russian Works for Piano Four Hands (2017).
