Drawing musical roots from the Pacific Northwest, with music that is a blend of Alternative rock, Indie rock, Indie pop, Dream pop and Shoegaze; multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer Seth Barthels is the founding member of the project that is Opus Anthem. This project and artist name, an idea originally formed on a road trip from the state of Washington to Colorado, was inspired by his faith journey. It is under this banner that he explored musical concepts and themes which later gave way to Opus Anthem's debut album "Unwinding Time" (2022).
Although musically inspired by Indie rock and Post-rock from the Pacific Northwest, Seth is a songwriter, who in his early years also drew musical inspiration from British New wave and Post-punk of the early 1980s, as well as British Rock of the early 1990s.
Over the years he has performed as a guitar and bass player in numerous music groups. Now, with Opus Anthem, he is exploring fresh musical and sonic motifs within the musical genres that inspired his start.
