On debut album Apocalips, Los Angeles’ Silos usher in a new age of hard rock, marrying heavy guitars, emotive vocals, and escapist EDM into a sonic sense of wonder, nostalgia, and ultimately hope. Co-produced by Grammy-winning hitmaker Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Seether, Of Mice and Men) and Neil Sanderson of Three Days Grace, Apocalips is released by the pair’s Judge and Jury Records on Feb. 21, 2025
“I love that feeling of how a song elevates you when you’re in a huge crowd,” said frontman Ray Garrison. “Silos is a vessel to create that experience in a new way – a way never experienced with rock.”
Originally envisioned as the solo project of Atlanta-raised songwriter/producer Garrison, Silos organically evolved into a collaborative quintet in 2022. Completed by Danish bassist Philip Nielsen (Crazy Town), German drummer David Rehmann (Orgy/Grandson), Spanish guitarist Ramón Blanco (Grandson), and Ukrainian guitarist Nick Dromin, the band is a multinational future rock phenom ready to resonate with global audiences.
On Apocalips, Silos meld the ecstatic, cinematic optimism of festival future rave with the dark emotional intensity of contemporary alt metal, drawing inspiration equally from the likes of DJ/producers David Guetta and Morten, and bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Escape the Fate. Melodic and muscular yet forward facing, it’s an album that speaks to a generation, exploring both Garrison’s sobriety journey and time-honored romantic heartache with rare honesty and heartfelt catharsis.
“The vocals tell the story of the darkness, but the music, subliminally, is lifting you out of it,” explained Garrison, a former DJ whose trap remix of Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” (as Phynx) has racked up over 30 million streams. “Finding my voice and my message was the greatest gift I could have as a songwriter because it gave me a sense of purpose.”
On lead single “Save Tonight,” Silos reimagine the Eagle-Eye Cherry classic with gargantuan guitars, mellow/dramatic dynamics, and Garrison’s poignant vocal framed with twinkling electronica. Longtime band and fan favorite “If I Fall” captures the butterflies sensation of being at a high-stakes crossroads, which Garrison was experiencing as Silos came together, with guest vocals from From Ashes to New’s Danny Case. “Black Mold” (feat. Escape the Fate’s Craig Mabbitt) conveys a central Apocalips theme with its anthemic hook: All my life I’ve left a trail behind me; Toxic love is all I’ve ever known … I’m trying to break the mold; Black mold.
Having already created a West Coast buzz with their frenetic, never-the-same-twice live shows and the endorsement of SiriusXM’s Octane, Silos will support Apocalips with further music videos, touring, and more of their unusually candid and interactive social media content.
“The rock world accepted me way deeper than the electronic world ever did,” Garrison concluded. “This is definitely what I’m supposed to be doing. Finally, I’m really connecting with the music I’m making.”
