Bringing playful, strutting, hip hop into the UK charts, Rizzle Kicks follow Tinchy Stryder and Tinie Tempah in ditching gangsta rap posturing in favour of mainstream urban pop fame. Graduates of the BRIT performing arts school that produced Kate Nash, Adele and Amy Winehouse, Rizzle (Jordan Stephens) and Sylvester (Harley Alexander-Sule) started rapping together over Gorillaz, Arctic Monkeys and Lily Allen tracks and soon gained attention with their mixtape Minor Breaches Of Discipline (2008). Signing to Island Records, the Brighton based duo featured on Olly Murs' chart-topping single Heart Skips A Beat before their debut single Down With The Trumpets shot to Number 8 in UK charts. Second single When I Was A Youngster also peaked at Number 8, before the Fatboy Slim produced hit Mama Do The Hump soared to Number 2 and debut album Stereo Typical (2011) reached Number 5. The pair went on to support Dizzee Rascal and The Streets and in 2011 they were nominated for three MOBO awards.
