Natiruts are a Brazilian roots reggae band formed in 1996 by singer and guitarist Alexandre Carlo. They have released nine albums and four DVDs including Índigo Cristal in 2017. Carlo is joined in the band by bass player Luís Mauricio and Juninho on drums with an assortment of musicians including Mônica Agena on lead guitar, Bruno Wambier on keyboards, Rodrigo Txotxa and Denny Conceição on percussion, André Mitsuoka on trombone, Paulo Roberto Pizzulin on trumpet and singers Luciana Oliveira and Ludmila Mazzucatti. They have released studio and concert albums including Acoustic in Rio de Janeiro (2012), which earned them a Latin Grammy nomination in 2013. Reggae Brasil (2016), another live album, features many Brazilian pop and reggae stars including Gilberto Gil, Edson Gomes, Ivete Sangalo, Toni Garrido, Saulo Fernandes and DM de Boa, Armandinho, Marcelo Mira, Zeider Pires, Hélio Bente, Sander Fróis, Duda Diamba, Marceleza, Edu Ribeiro, and Sine Calmon. The album also included a live version of their hit "Sorri, Sou Rei" with singer Tati Portella. Nativus, their studio debut, hit the shelves in 1997 and, since then, the group has carved out a niche for themselves in the Brazilian reggae scene through albums like Povo Brasileiro (1999), Verbalize (2001), Qu4tro (2002), Nossa Missão (2005), and Raçaman (2009). In 2021, Natiruts collaborated with Maneva on the single "Lágrimas de Alegria," earning another Latin Grammy nomination for Best Portuguese Language Song. That year, they delivered their ninth studio LP, Good Vibration Vol. 1.
