Biografie

Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax (April 15, 1994), better known as Jacquees, is an R&B and hip-hop artist from Decatur, Georgia. After performing at several talent shows, he met manager Russell “Block” Spencer and began working in Spencer’s studio as part of a production team. Jacquees launched his solo career with the EP I Am Jacquees (2011), featuring the single “Krazy” with T.I. Following the release of the mixtapes Round of Applause (2011), Fan Affiliated (2012), and Quemix (2013), he returned with a second EP titled 19 that featured collaborations with Chris Brown, Rich Homie Quan, Lloyd, and Trinidad James. 19’s success helped Jacquees land a record deal with Cash Money, one of the most successful labels in the rap industry. In the following years, he worked closely with labelmate Birdman on the EP Lost at Sea (2016) and teamed up with Dej Loaf for the mixtape Fuck a Friend Zone (2017). His studio debut 4275 arrived in 2018 and climbed to Number 3 on the R&B charts, yielding the hits “Inside” with Trey Songz and “You.” That year, he joined forces with Birdman once again on the mixtape Lost at Sea II, and delivered the EP This Time I’m Serious. Featuring a star-studded lineup of guest appearances, including Young Thug, Gunna, and Lil Baby, his sophomore effort King of R&B saw the light in 2019, hitting Number 20 on the Billboard 200. Subsequently, Jacquees continued to work with the biggest names in urban music such as Chris Brown (2020’s “Put In Work”), Queen Naija (2021’s “Bed Friend”), and Future (2021’s “Not Jus Anybody”).
