Formerly known as "Metalforce," the heavy metal band Majesty was formed in Lauda, Germany. Frontman Tarek Maghary launched the group with guitarist Udo Keppner in 1997. Inspired by bands like Accept and Iron Maiden, the group introduced its traditional metal sound with the 2000 debut album Keep It True, which was self-produced and independently released. A record contract with Massacre Records followed in 2001, and Majesty returned in 2002 with the band's label debut, Sword & Sorcery. Keppner left the lineup shortly thereafter, Maghary becoming the band's longest-running member. Now featuring a new lineup, Majesty reached the German charts for the first time with Hellforces, which peaked at Number 100 in 2006. The group rebranded itself as "Metalforce" in 2008 and released a self-titled album under that name in 2009, only to revert to the Majesty name with 2013's Thunder Rider. Billed as a comeback album, Thunder Rider charted at Number 55 in Germany. It was followed by Generation Steel, which reached Number 39 in 2015, and Rebels, which peaked at Number 16 in 2017. Two year later, Legends hit Number 33. Now featuring a stabilized lineup that included Maghary, guitarist Robin Hadamovsky, bassist Alex Voß, drummer Jan Raddatz, and guitarist Emanuel Knorr, the band returned in 2023 with another studio album, Back to Attack.
