A highly respected pianist and composer, Dan Siegel has 22 solo albums, and hundreds of other producing, composing and performing credits in his extensive recording career. He has traveled and performed around the world in support of his numerous Top 10 recordings, and maintains a global audience.
Siegel holds a BS in Music Composition from the University of Oregon, and a MM in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern California, where he received a Music Merit Scholarship. As an undergraduate living in Boston he studied piano with the legendary Madam Chaloff.
Dan has published over 400 compositions across a diversity of musical genres, including classical-crossover, world, theater, electronic, pop and jazz.
Siegel’s work as a composer, orchestrator, and conductor includes the score for the cult film, Reform School Girls, and Universal Studios dramatic TV series, Hard Copy. He was the musical director on the late-night CBS TV show, Overtime with Pat O’Brien and played on numerous TV and film projects including the Oscar-winning film, The Usual Suspects. Dan has composed works heard in a variety of programs including National Geographic Explorer, ESPN Sports, The History Channel, Discovery, A&E, Animal Planet, and the Olympic Winter Games.
Siegel has recorded and performed with an eclectic group of artists including Glenn Frey (The Eagles), Chaka Khan, Berlin, Bela Fleck, Philip Bailey (Earth Wind & Fire), Kenny Rankin, Hugh Masekela, Herbie Hancock and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Dan lives in Southern California and divides his time between composing, performing, and teaching.
