Fort Minor ist ein Alternative-Hip-Hop-Projekt von Mike Shinoda, eines der Gründungsmitglieder von Linkin Park. 2005 veröffentlicht er sein Debütalbum The Rising Tied, auf dem er unter anderem von Jay-Z (Co-Produzent), John Legend, Skylar Grey, Kenna und seinem Bandkollegen von Linkin Park, Joe Hahn, unterstützt wird. In den USA kann sich das Album insgesamt 26 Wochen in den Charts halten und wird außerdem mit Platin ausgezeichnet. In Deutschland erreicht die Platte Platz 25 der Charts. 2006 kann sich die Single „Where’d You Go (feat. Holly Brook & Jonah Matranga)" noch auf Rang 4 der US-Charts platzieren, woraufhin sich Mike Shinoda aber weiterhin auf sein Hauptprojekt Linkin Park fokussiert. Mit der Single „Welcome" feiert Fort Minor 2015 sein Comeback.
