Biografie

French pop vocalist Barbara Pravi - born Barbara Piévic in Paris, France on April 10, 1993, - is best known for representing France in the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, securing second place with the song “Voilá.” Of Serbian and Iranian origin, she grew up in a family of artists, and was inspired by art, literature and music.  She signed her first recording contract in 2015 with Capitol Records and performed "On m'appelle Heidi,” the French theme to the film Heidi (2016). She came to prominence in 2016 portraying Solange Duhamel in the musical Un été 44. Barbara Pravi released the single “Pas grandir” in 2017, the same year that she began acting on television. Her self-titled debut EP was released in 2018, followed by two further EPs: Reviens pour l'Hiver (2020) and Les Prières (2021). She also began composing songs for other artists including Yannick Noah, Julie Zenatti, Chimène Badi, Jaden Smith, Florent Pagny, Louane, and Angelina. Barbara Pravi’s journey to the Eurovision Song Contest began in 2019 when she composed the song ”Bim bam toi” with French musician Igit. The song was recorded by Carla and represented France at the Junior European Contest and came in fifth place. In 2020, Barbara Pravi and Igit composed “J’imagine," which was performed by Valentina at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, where it won first place. In 2021, Barbara Pravi was a contestant on Eurovision France, c'est vous qui décidez ! and performed the song “Voilá,” She won the competition and was chosen to represent France at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contestwhere she came in second place. In June 2021, Barbara Pravi released the single “Le Jour se lève” followed a month later by “L’Homme et l’oiseau”. The two songs were precursors to her debut solo full-length album On N’Enferme Pas les Oiseaux, which was released in August 2021.
