Biografie

Lukas Nelson, son of country legend Willie Nelson, set up his band Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real (often referred to as just POTR) in Los Angeles, California in 2008. With the help of family connections they very soon established themselves as a credible country music act. Shortly after formation, POTR embarked on a nationwide tour supporting Willie Nelson, an engagement which included a five-night sell-out run of concerts at The Fillmore in San Francisco. Such valuable exposure catapulted the band into the limelight and the band's career started to take off. In 2011 they played over 200 gigs including appearances on 'The Jay Leno Show', 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' and 'The Late Show With David Letterman'. POTR frequently opened for Willie Nelson and Lukas would often play with his father's band during concerts. Although the band enjoyed limited success with their first three albums, their self-titled fourth release went to number two in the US Country Charts suggesting Lukas Nelson is finally emerging from the his father's shadow.
