Biografie
Derek Andersen und Scott Land – aka Slander – sind ein amerikanisches DJ Duo aus Los Angeles, die am besten für ihren einzigartigen Heaven Trap-Sound bekannt sind. Kennenlernen tun die beiden Musiker sich in ihrer Unizeit in einer Studentenverbindung, wo sie Gigs für ihre Kommilitonen und in lokalen Venues spielen. 2014 schlägt ihr Remix des Showteks Songs „We Like To Party“ erste Wellen: Ihre Version des Tracks häuft auf einer Video-Plattform zu der Zeit mehr als 12 Millionen Klicks an. Auch ihr vormals erwähnter Heaven Trap-Sound – ein Mix aus Trap und Trance – nimmt langsam Gestalt an. 2015 erscheint die EP Nuclear Bonds, die auf Diplos Plattenlabel Mad Decent veröffentlicht wird. „Gud Vibrations“ (2015) folgt als Single-Auskopplung, auch die Tracks „Love Again“ (2015) feat. Wavz sowie eine Reihe an Tracks mit häufigem Kollaborateur Nghtmre – „You“ (2015), „Power“ (2015), „Warning“ (2015) – erblicken das Licht der Welt. Slander nehmen aber nicht nur mit Nghtmre auf, sie gehen 2016 auch gemeinsam auf US-Tour. 2016 erscheint ihre Nachfolger EP Duality und 2017 eine Single mit Basstrick, „Drop It“. Ihre Radioshow Gud Vibrations Radio mit Nghtmre wird im selben Jahr gelaunched. Nach der EP Dilapidation Celebration erscheinen zahlreiche Singles, unter anderem „First Time“ (2018), „Love Is Gone“ (2019), „Feeling Gud“ (2020), „Gravity“ (2021) und „Miss You“ (2021).
