Foxy is a Latin dance/disco group from Hialeah, Florida, formed in 1976. The original lineup included Ish "Angel" Ledesma on vocals and guitar, Richard "Richie" Puente on percussion, Charlie Murciano on keyboards, Arnold Paseiro on bass, and Joe Galdo on drums, with Gary Ortiz as co-lead vocalist for their first album. Foxy's breakthrough came in 1978 with the release of "Get Off", which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 1 on the Soul chart for two weeks. The song was also a Dutch Number 1 smash hit single. Shortly after, Ortiz was replaced by Carlo Driggs, who contributed vocals/percussion and shared songwriting credits on Foxy's second album, Get Off. In early 1979, the band recorded the backing track of ABBA's "Voulez-Vous" at Criteria Studios in Miami. Driggs left before the recording of their third album, Hot Numbers, which was released later that year and featured the single "Hot Number", peaking at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 4 on the Soul chart. Murciano departed the band later in 1979, and Foxy issued one final studio album, Party Boys, and a live album, Foxy Live (1980), before disbanding mid-1980.
