.Hailing from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Tim Hicks is a Canadian country singer best known for the Number 1 singles "What A Song Should Do" and "No Truck Song." He was born on August 22, 1979, began taking music lessons as a child, and launched his performance career in the pubs and wineries of his hometown. He signed with one of Canada's biggest country labels, Open Road Recordings, in 2011 and released his debut single "Get By," one year later. "Get By" went platinum and reached number 9 on the Canada Country chart, kickstarting Hicks' successful career in his homeland. The Top 10 hits "Hell Raisin' Good Time" and "Buzz, Buzz, Buzzing" followed in 2013, with all three songs appearing Hicks' gold-certified debut, Throw Down. Nominated for "Country Album of the Year" at the 2014 Juno Awards, Throw Down was followed by 5:01, which reached number 7 on the Canadian Albums chart in 2014. Like the album before it, 5:01 featured three Top 10 country singles, including the gold-certified "Here Comes the Thunder." Shake These Walls was released in September 2016, peaked at number 15 in Canada, and featured Hicks' highest-charting single at the time, "Slide Over," which reached number 2 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. Hicks reached Number 1 for the first time in 2019, when "What A Song Should Do" topped the Canada Country chart. The song also appeared on his fourth album, New Tattoo, which was followed by the Wreck This EP in 2020. Wreck This featured Hicks' second chart-topper, "No Truck Song." Hicks' hit streak continued with 2022's Talk to Time, which featured Top 10 hits like "Whiskey Does" and "Dodge Out of Hell," as well as the 2023 single "Yes to the Haw," which reached number 49.
