Known for his unique blend of orchestral and electronic music, Yasunori Nishiki is a Japanese composer and arranger who has made significant contributions to the video game music industry. Born on July 10, 1985, in the Kanagawa Prefecture, he started playing the piano at a very young age but it wasn't until his teenage years that he began taking music seriously, inspired by his love of the band Spitz. He got his start as a composer right after graduating from Tokyo College of Music, landing a job at Konami and participating in projects such as Quiz Magic Academy and Pro Evolution Soccer 2011. During this time, he also used the pseudonym Vivian to produce songs for numerous music video games, including Reflec Beat, Pop'n Music, and Jubeat. Over the next few years, Yasunori Nishiki left Konami and took on several projects as a freelance composer, the most popular of them being the soundtrack to Square Enix's 2018 RPG Octopath Traveler, a critically acclaimed piece of music that received a nomination for Best Score/Music at The Game Awards later that year. Octopath Traveler's original soundtrack played a major part in the franchise's popularity, spawning several arrangement albums and even a handful of live performances. In addition to his video game music catalog, Yasunori Nishiki has also written original music for anime series such as Azur Lane (2019), Princess Connect! Re:Dive (2020), and Shine Post (2022).
