Anchor Lane 'Call This a Reality?' Out Now!
Anchor Lane are hitting the road again for another successful headline tour – this time off the back of the release of their second album entitled ‘Call This A Reality?’ (released January 27th 2023) which features the singles ‘Stutter’ (watch the video here), ‘I Don’t Have Another Soul To Pour’ and ‘Choke’. The album is already the subject of superb reviews: “a masterpiece that should be used as a measure for music yet to be created” exclaimed one journalist who is not alone!
Whilst citing a wide range of influences including Nothing But Thieves, Royal Blood, Biffy Clyro, Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters. Conor, Lawrence and Graeme recorded their new material in Glasgow with producer Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic, Fatherson, Vukovi).
No strangers to success, the band’s debut album ‘Casino’ (2020) entered the Official UK Rock Albums Chart at Number 9, scoring the band their first Top 10. Showcasing the band as exceptional musicians and skilled songwriters, it garnered rave reviews across the board. It was Top 20 in the full Official Scottish Albums Chart and Top 50 in the full Official UK Independent Albums Chart.
Anchor Lane have built a reputation as a thrilling and dynamic live act through appearances at several prominent music festivals such as Download, Isle of Wight, Stone Free and Belladrum etc. – along with notable guest spots with acts like Eagles of Death Metal, Tremonti and Skindred. They were denied the opportunity to tour incessantly off the back of the release of ‘Casino’ due to the global pandemic which the band turned into a positive when, amongst several live streams for their fans, they used the time to dig deeper into the song writing process for the new album ‘Call This A Reality?’.
A welcome return to the road in 2022 saw the band wow fans on the festival circuit again including a triumphant set at a Download return as well as debuts at Steelhouse and Call of the Wild. Several successful UK tours towards the end of last year have set them up nicely for dates throughout 2023 kicking off with an album launch show in their hometown of Glasgow.
