Hailing from South-East London, Ife Ogunjobi is a Grammy award-winning trumpeter, composer, and producer of Nigerian origin.
Influenced by afrobeat, fuji and jazz, his powerful and groove-infused compositions reflect the richness of culture and sound that has
shaped his career, forging a style that blurs the separation between genres and mixes heritage and modernity. A key member of the
Mercury Prize winning outfit Ezra Collective, Ife has established himself as an important and rising voice in the British jazz and
underground scene. His spellbinding skill and musical versatility has also led him to collaborate in the studio and on tour with an
impressive list of international artists including Wizkid, Burna Boy and Dave, gracing stages such at iconic venues and festivals such as
Madison Square Garden, Accor Arena, Couleur Cafe Festival, We Out Here, Glastonbury and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Following on from his debut solo EP ‘Stay True’ in 2023 (which garnered support from Gilles Peterson, BBC 6Music and Jazz FM), Ife
now returns with the release of new single ‘Zimbabwe’ heralding the forthcoming five track offering ‘Tell Them I’m Here’. Kicking off with a
paced down Tony Allen-esqure drum shuffle, ‘Zimbabwe’ sets about melding traditional Afrobeat sensibilities, with contemporary sonics.
Captivating trumpet motifs lead the charge, as dreamy guitar patterns and vibrant samples create a potent brew.
