The Alexander Brothers, a folk-music duo from Scotland, were born Thomas Armit "Tom" Alexander on June 25, 1934 and John "Jack" Armit Alexander on November 11, 1935 in Cambusnethan. They began performing professionally after winning a talent contest in 1958, which led to their debut at Webster Hall, Arbroath. Their most popular recording was "Nobody's Child" in 1964. The duo's 1966 album These are My Mountains peaked at number 29 on the UK Albums Chart the same year. They toured extensively and received MBEs from the Queen in the 2005 New Year Honours List. Jack died on November 2, 2013, while Tom continued to perform occasionally as a solo act until his death on January 9, 2020.
