Zoe

Zoë Staub, whose artist name is sometimes shortened to Zoë, was born in Vienna, Austria, on December 1, 1996. She was educated in French-speaking schools before deciding to pursue a career in the arts, and more specifically in singing. She first took part in the selections to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015, but failed to qualify for the competition, finishing third on the podium. No matter, she tried again in 2016, this time finishing first in the qualifiers with her song "Loin d'ici", which she went on to defend in Stockholm, Sweden, where the final was held. She was the first Austrian artist to choose to compete in the French language, with this self-penned track mixing pop and electro. Initially ranked 23rd in the jury vote, her 8th place in the tele-vote enabled her to finish 13th overall.
