This Is Lorelei

Born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on January 8, 1991, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Nate Amos is known for his work with indie rock band Water from Your Eyes, which he formed in 2016 with Rachel Brown. However, Nate Amos first came to the attention of indie rock fans in 2013 as This is Lorelei, a musical project that blended shimmering guitar lines and hypnotic rhythms, with personal – and often confessional - lyrics. This is Lorelei released the self-titled debut album in 2014, which was then followed by two EPS in 2015. In 2016 – the same year he formed Water from Your Eyes – This is Lorelei issued their second album, Did You Dream It or Did You See It in a Photograph. While retaining their core sound, the group continued to add emotional layers to their sound while the lyrics continued to embrace Nate Mason’s more vulnerable side. While also recording and touring with Water from Your Eyes, This is Lorelei continued to release a series of EPs and albums including Self-Ish (2016), From Static Comes Motion (2017), Haystacks! (2018), The Dirt, The Dancing (2019), The Mall, the Country (2019), Box for Buddy, Box for Star (2024), and Holo Boy (2025).
