Ricardo Montaner, whose real name is Héctor Eduardo Reglero Montaner, is an Argentinian-Venezuelan singer, songwriter and producer born on September 8, 1957 in Valentín Alsina, in the Buenos Aires region of Argentina. He has been one of the leading figures in Latin American romantic music since the 1980s, renowned for his powerful voice, emotional style and hit ballads. At an early age, he moved with his family to Maracaibo, Venezuela, where he began his musical career in the 1970s, singing in local bands and developing a taste for pop ballads and Christian music. He made a name for himself in Venezuela with his debut album Cada Día (1983), but it was his Ricardo Montaner album (1986), featuring the hits "Tan Enamorados " and "Vamos a Dejarlo ", that catapulted him to stardom throughout Latin America. From then on, he went from strength to strength, with a series of lyrically romantic albums such as Ricardo Montaner 2 (1988), Un Toque de Misterio (1990), En El Último Lugar del Mundo (1991) and his first platinum disc, Es Así (1997), featuring such chart-toppers as "La Cima del Cielo ", " Déjame Llorar " and " La Cima del Cielo ". Déjame Llorar Será ou Me Va a Extrañar ". During the 2000s, Montaner maintained his popularity with new gold- and platinum-selling albums such as Sueño Repetido (2001), and others recorded with the London Metropolitan Orchestra, released in 1999 and 2004. A prolific artist, he remains faithful to his style while exploring other registers, such as orchestral ballads, boleros, tropical sounds and even Christian music, as he is very religious and often integrates a spiritual dimension into his work. He is also an author who writes the majority of his own songs. Based between the Dominican Republic, Florida and Argentina, he is also the patriarch of a family of artists. His children Mau y Ricky form a successful urban pop duo, and his son Ricardo (known as Camilo since his marriage to singer Evaluna Montaner) has become one of the hottest stars in contemporary Latin pop. Crossing generations, Ricardo Montaner remains popular, thanks in particular to his collaborations with his children and his role as coach on La Voz (the Spanish-language version of The Voice) in Argentina, Mexico and Colombia. After albums such as Viajero Frecuente (2012), Ida y Vuelta (2016), Montaner (2019) and Fe (2021), he recorded the album Tango (2022), followed by a trio with his children Camilo and Evaluna Montaner, "Si Tuviera Que Elegir" (2025).
