Alistair Richard Griffin, born on November 1, 1977, in Middlesbrough, England, is an English singer-songwriter and musician. He began his musical journey while studying at York St. John College, performing with a small band and busking on the streets of York. After graduating, Griffin moved to London to pursue a career in music. In 2001, he performed with the pop/rock band Sugartown at the Leeds Party in the Park. Griffin gained widespread recognition through his appearances on the BBC television show Fame Academy 2 in 2003, where he was mentored by Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees. His technically accomplished live performances and songwriting ability earned him second place in the competition. Following this breakthrough, Griffin released his debut album Bring It On in January 2004, which included the top twenty hit single "You & Me (Tonight)". He performed extensively throughout 2004, including a live performance with Phil Collins at the European 'WorldBest' competition in Cannes. In the autumn of that year, he supported Robin Gibb on his Magnet tour of Germany. After parting ways with his record company and abandoning their 'pop style' backing tracks, Griffin released an independent recording of his live performances in Germany. He continued to perform live, both solo and with various backing bands. In 2006, Griffin announced the formation of a new band called Albion, focusing on collaborative work rather than a solo career.
