Emma Louise Lobb, known professionally as Emma Louise, was born on July 16, 1991, in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. She is a singer-songwriter who began her musical journey at the age of six when her father bought her first guitar. By grade ten, she had started writing serious songs and won awards for her compositions. In 2008, Emma Louise released her debut EP Autumn Tongues. Her breakthrough came in 2011 with the release of the EP Full Hearts & Empty Rooms, which included the single "Jungle". This track gained significant airplay on Triple J and reached Number 100 on the ARIA Singles Chart. In March 2013, she released her debut studio album Vs Head vs Heart, which peaked at Number 12 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The same year, she was nominated for Best Female Artist at the ARIA Music Awards. In 2014, German DJ and producer Wankelmut remixed "Jungle", releasing it as "My Head Is a Jungle". This version reached double platinum status in Italy and top 30 in Germany. Emma Louise also collaborated with Australian electronic duo Flight Facilities on the single "Two Bodies" that year. In July 2016, she released her second studio album Supercry, which reached Number 14 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Her third studio album, Lilac Everything, was released in September 2018. After many years without new music, she came back in 2024 with a new version of "My Head Is a Jungle" with Testpress. Dumb, her fourth full-length, was recorded in collaboration with Flume and came out in 2025.
