Bob the Builder is a British animated children's television series created by Keith Chapman for HIT Entertainment. The show, which aired from April 12, 1999 to December 31, 2011 in the UK, featured the adventures of Bob, a general contractor and his team of anthropomorphised construction vehicles. Bob the Builder's music career began with the release of "Can We Fix It?" in 2000, which became a million-selling Number 1 hit in the UK. The following year, their debut album The Album was released on October 3, 2001 through BBC Records, achieving Gold status in the UK and Platinum certification in Australia. In 2008, Bob the Builder released Never Mind the Breeze Blocks, which also achieved notable success. The group's discography includes other singles such as "Mambo No. 5" (2001) and "Big Fish Little Fish" (2008). Following the original series' conclusion in 2011, HIT Entertainment was acquired by Mattel for $680 million. The show saw a revival with changes in setting, casting, and character designs starting in October 2014. This reboot aired on Channel 5's Milkshake! from 2015 to 2018. Bob the Builder has been broadcast in over 30 countries and translated into multiple languages, demonstrating its global impact.
