Serani Poji

Serani Poji, was a Japanese pop music band formed in 1999 by Tomoko Sasaki, who remains the vocalist, keyboardist, lyricist, composer, and producer. The group debuted with the album manamoon (October 30 1999) after composing the soundtrack for the Sega Dreamcast game ROOMMANIA #203. In 2002, producer Yukihiro Fukutomi departed, and Tomoko Sasaki took full creative control. Subsequent releases included one‑room survival (November 21 2002), the single "bomber minmi" (December 3 2003), Ochamekan (June 30 2004), and MERRY GO ROUND JAILHOUSE (March 3 2010). After a brief hiatus, the band returned in 2009 and released a new album the following year. In 2017 Sega announced a revival that was later abandoned. The 2023 digital single "pipo pipo (Sped Up Version)" saw a surge in U.S. streams, and "Smiley wo sagashite" entered Billboard’s TikTok Top 50 on January 6 2024. The 4th album, Ochamekan, which includes the track "Goodbye My Sweet Strawberry" was released on June 30, 2024.
