B‑Tribe was founded in 1993 by German producers Claus Zundel, Markus Staab, and Ralf Hamm, known as “The Brave,” who had previously worked on the Sacred Spirit project; the trio were born in Germany, and they began their collaboration in the late 1980s. Their breakthrough came with the single "¡Fiesta Fatal!", which reached Number 1 on the European dance charts in October 1993, establishing the project’s signature blend of flamenco guitar, classical Spanish instrumentation, and ambient trip‑hop textures. Chronologically, the group released ¡Fiesta Fatal! in 1993, followed by Suave Suave in 1995, Spiritual, Spiritual! in 2002, and 5 in 2003; each album was recorded at Claus Zundel’s Ibiza studio and featured collaborations with Spanish guitarist Paco Fernandez, cellist Eric Plummetaz, and vocalist Deborah Blando, while later releases included contributions from African model Luna Mohamed. The project’s ambient track "She Moved Through the Fair" from Spiritual, Spiritual! appeared on the 2001 compilation Pure Moods IV, extending its reach into the world‑music scene. B‑Tribe’s releases maintained a presence on European charts, with Suave Suave contributing to the mid‑1990s rise of world‑music‑influenced electronic music, and the group continued to produce music through the 2000s, culminating in a limited edition sixth album in 2008, before ceasing new releases thereafter.
