Max Merseny

Max Merseny, born May 14, 1988, in Munich, Germany, is a German-Hungarian saxophonist and composer. Raised by Hungarian parents, he was immersed in music from an early age through his father, Thomas Merseny, a singer and guitarist. At 16, he enrolled at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, studying under jazz figures such as Thomas Zoller and Gregor Hübner. In 2005, he appeared in the television series Die Abschlussklasse 06. After graduating in 2010, he received a DAAD scholarship to study at Milan’s Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi.” His debut album Thank Y’All (2011) earned a Jazz Echo nomination for Best Newcomer. Subsequent releases include Incontri Live (2012), and World Traveller (2017). Merseny has performed at major venues including Festival Da Jazz and Düsseldorfer Jazzrally, collaborating with artists such as Phonte and Till Brönner.
