Founded in 1965 in Birmingham by Roy Wood (guitar, vocals), Carl Wayne (vocals), Trevor Burton (guitar), Ace Kefford (bass) and BevBevan (drums).
Somewhere between symphonic pop, psychedelic rock, (experimental) hard rock and country, The Move, with its eccentric leader Roy Wood, was one of the most exciting and confusing English bands of the late 1960s, as evidenced by the album Shazam (1970), a cross between The Byrds and Jimi Hendrix.
Joined by Jeff Lynne in 1971, Roy Wood led both The Move and a project close to his heart: the creation of the Electric Light Orchestra, a group to which he devoted himself for a time after The Move split up in 1972, before launching Wizzard, a glam rock big band with a Scandinavian sound and a rock'n'roll repertoire.
